We use
burros (the spanish term for donkey) to guard our flock. They
are domestic and formerly wild (BLM Adoptee) animals. We find
them effective in reducing the number of livestock we lose
to predators. The burros are intelligent, require little care,
and learn their responsibilities very quickly. Our jennies
have accepted our herding dogs and still recognize and defend
against strange canines.
